Wind and rain or wind or rain.

This week I have discovered that I don't like wind.  More specifically, I don't like to walk in the wind when my hair is wet, because then it turns into gigantic 80's hair band hair.  Today, it is super windy. Thankfully, I don't have wet hair although my hair is still giant thanks to yesterday's blow dry. I think I will put my hair up and wear a hat or wear a scarf around my head (a-la a woman from the 50's) to combat the wind and still be able to walk.

This week we had a lot of rain, which is good because we had a very dry winter, but bad because these two weeks I am working in a place where I had planned to walk to bart and couldn't walk in the crazy rain.  I had to get creative with my exercise.  I decided on Friday when it was raining that I would run up and down 3 flights of stairs backstage.  I decided to take Burrows with me. He enjoyed it.  Yesterday, I fell upon a game that my co-workers were playing called "where are you dave" or something like that, which is a version of volleyball (kinda) played in the seats of the auditorium with a soft rubber ball.  It was fun, but I needed to have read a written version of the rules to be able to compete with all the seasoned players.

I had a week full of temptation (both on the cookie front and the beer front) and I persisted!  I lost 1.2 lbs which has gotten me to -26lbs or this fish.

I'm all ready to have another good week, if I don't get too foiled by the rain and/or tempted by the beers. Whoo hoo!  Maybe I'll even attempt to catch up on my resolution. :)

Photos from assorted walks

I have been a bit busy and somehow I managed to not go to an East Bay Regional Parks District park for two weeks.  But I have been going on a lot of other walks.

I went to visit my parents last month and I walked with my mom on the other side of the bay.  It is a part of the SF Bay Trail.

I kind of love how I managed to take two pictures that look like they should connect in the middle.  (In real life the bridge should be on the left).

I took this on a night with very pretty clouds.  I wanted to put clouds in a show on a cyc and I became a little obsessed.  This is the lake, where I tend to walk most days.

I tried to take a picture at art murmur but everyone has such strict no photography policies I couldn't do it.

I'm going to be in Tech (ie. crazy busy at work) for a few weeks and I am trying to get prepared. If I plan for my weeks of crazy and stress, I am so much more successful at cooking my own food and eating healthier.  I even scheduled a few solo walks into my calendar. (YAY exercise!) I am proud that I managed to do some cleaning today even though the weather is glorious.

The plan for the rest of the day includes cooking some South African meatloaf called bobotie, a sunset walk and maybe even sorting laundry.  I am living the glamorous life. :)
