The good...

Thanks to the greatest walking motivator of all, my pedometer aka the thing I manage to drop most often of all time, I have been walking everywhere.  I live very close to a giant man-made lake (it used to be an estuary, where all the creeks and streams would meet and flow into the bay) which I have been walking around every day that I am not working.  I have been working (and will work there for the next week also)  somewhere where I can walk and bart. So far my track record is pretty much as I suspected it would be.  I can walk both directions any time other than the very early morning, when I can barely get up early enough to take the bus.  (Big surprise.)

This week, I'm working a change over; which is pretty much me walking around, picking things up, carrying them somewhere and putting them away or somewhere else.  In a past bout of pedometer wearing, (I think it lasted a week) I had worn my pedometer during a tech day when I was working Deck crew and thought that was a lot of steps (maybe 12,000).  Yesterday, I walked 10.75 miles or 24,337 steps and I only walked home one way.  Yeeesh, no wonder I was so tired yesterday when I got home.  I am so curious to wear it again during a tech when I walk to work and walk home.

In my walks around the lake I've been spending time visiting my local library.  I have been taking out DVD's of all of my favorite movie musicals as a kid.  I think I am in heaven.  I haven't watched many of these since high school, as they were all taped on VHS off of PBS.  (Who has a vhs player these days anyways?)  I am amazed by how theatrical some of the lighting is.  I feel like I am learning a lot about old-fashioned cinematography.  Who knew that they some how put gobos in a follow spot, so that the beam edge has a hard star like shape?  I've even been singing all the songs and dancing around the house.  Perhaps I am returning to my five-year old self.

Thanks to the pedometer, I had a good week of exercise and I had a good week food wise, so I've gotten to -6lbs!

Ridiculous picture of the week.

I forgot to take pictures in my clothes I wore to the meeting, so these are my work clothes. I tried to pose like all the celebrities do with my ankles crossed.
